How BLUETTI’s LAAF Program Brought Light to Lagos Schools (July 2025 Update)

31/07/2025

The availability of stable electricity continues to exclude large numbers of families and educational organizations throughout Africa. BLUETTI is working to change that. That’s why we launched the LAAF (Lighting An African Family) program—to bring clean energy and well-lit living environments to underserved communities across the African continent. Since 2023, BLUETTI LAAF has delivered solar solutions to 10 African regions and provided power to 15,000 families. The July expedition of our mission took us to the peripheral areas of Lagos Nigeria, which have lacked electricity access for an extended period.

"Your generosity has come at a crucial time for our pupils, who previously had to depend on streetlights and candles to read and do their assignments. Thanks to your intervention, they now have a safe, reliable, and sustainable source of light that not only brightens their evenings but also illuminates their educational journey and future ambitions." — Mrs. Ameen

In July, BLUETTI’s Nigeria LAAF team arrived in Lagos equipped with 90 portable solar lighting kits, providing lighting for hundreds of students and teachers at three rural schools through its solar power systems.

Lighting Up Education in Lagos

For over 15 years, students and teachers at three rural schools in Lagos—Nasiratulazeez Islamic School Folu, Fadl-l-Omar Islamic Nur and Basic School Magbon Alade, and Fadl-l-Omar Islamic Nur and Basic School Ode—have struggled without reliable electricity.

Mrs. Ameen, a representative of the schools, explained that generators and solar installations are available to some community members, while numerous students, along with their families, lack the financial capability to afford such alternatives. Her voice revealed not just concern, but also the quiet resilience of a community that has long endured the dark.

In July 2025, the BLUETTI LAAF (Lighting An African Family) program answered that call. BLUETTI’s Nigeria LAAF team arrived in Lagos equipped with 90 portable solar lighting kits. Our engineers demonstrated solar kits to the audience while unpacking the equipment with both skill and assurance. A large group of curious children watched with their faces tilted forward. For some, it was the first time seeing a personal power solution up close. The lights turned on after a brief moment. A soft illumination expanded throughout the room. Smiles followed. For families that had lived for years without reliable electricity, it was more than illumination. It was a transformation.

"Thank you for believing in our children’s potential and investing in their brighter tomorrow." — Mrs. Ameen

A New Chapter Begins

Through its solar power systems, LAAF provided lighting to hundreds of students and teachers at three rural schools during the month of July.

During July, LAAF brought light to hundreds of students and teachers at three rural schools through its solar power systems. These solar kits perform functions beyond illumination because they help create possibilities. With every evening spent reading or writing under their soft beam, students grow closer to dreams that once felt out of reach. Some may become tomorrow’s engineers, teachers, or scientists. And they’ll remember the spark in the darkness that showed them what possibility looks like.

With the support of the local community and coordination by school leaders, BLUETTI’s July mission in Nigeria reached schools long left behind by traditional infrastructure. The availability of light in these areas now represents both community determination and new beginnings.

And we’re only getting started.

The Journey Ahead

LAAF will continue to expand across Africa, guided by local voices and needs. Whether it’s the mountains of Kenya or the classrooms of Lagos, our mission remains the same: to ensure that no child is left in the dark.

Because when the lights come on, everything changes.

Together, we’re not just powering homes—we’re powering hope.
